Why work for the County of Santa Clara's Social Services Agency?
Hear from Vanessa, Rosa, Tamika and Michael about the community support work they do, and why they love doing it for the County of Santa Clara.
The County of Santa Clara Social Services Agency accomplishes our goals through these departments:
Department of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS)
The DAAS strives to ensure a safe and independent lifestyle for older adults, dependent adults, and the disabled. We provide congregate and delivered meals daily, In-Home Supportive Services, act on reports of abused dependent adults and older adults, and manage probate conservatorships, mental health conservatorships, decedent cases and trusts.
Department of Employment and Benefit Services (DEBS)
The DEBS works to transition public assistance recipients to employment and eventual self-sufficiency and to ensure that low-income individuals and families receive necessary health, nutrition, financial and employment services.
Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS)
The DFCS ensures that any child or youth who is at risk or has suffered abuse or neglect is safe, cared for and in a stable, loving family. We work to strengthen families by helping them reach their unique potential.
Veterans Services Office (VSO)
The VSO helps veterans, military personnel, and their families obtain federal, state, and local benefits earned through active-duty military service. Our state and nationally accredited Veteran Services Representatives also aid clients to navigate the complex process of securing compensation benefits through the US Department of Veterans Affairs (USDVA).
The County of Santa Clara's Adult Protective Services (APS) program helps elder and dependent adults who are victims of abuse, neglect, or exploitation. APS investigates reports of abuse and provides services to prevent and remedy abuse or neglect.
